Many species of Heliconia are found in the tropical forest of these regions. Most species are listed as either vulnerable or data deficient by the LUCN Red list of threatened species are widely cultivated as ornamentals and are naturalized in FLORIDA, GAMBIA and THAILAND. Common Name of the genus include Lobster- claws toucan beak, Wild Plantain, or False Bird of Paradise. These herbaceous plant range from 0.5 to nearly 4.5 m (1.5 to 15 feet) tall depending on the species.

USES: It is used in decorating indoor and semi outdoor of our house, the flower has attractive and different color shades and shapes. This makes an ideal pot plant and cut flower.

PLANT CARE:

Temperature Range: 25ᵒc to 40ᵒc Humidity Range : 50% TO 90% Shade Level : 35% to 60% indirect light

Watering: pH 6.5 to 7, TDS: 100 TO 300.
Check the moisture level in the Media in your pot and apply water accordingly,
give water once in 10 days, do not allow the Media to dry because it need moisture, Avoid excess water.

Fertilizer: Give the plant N.P.K. 2-1-1 Or 3-1-2 once in 10 -14 days, Give 1.5 gm per ltr.
Organic manure 10 kg per plant per month. Avoid excess Fertilizer.
